Day camp information and policies

Get ready for everything Music and Drama! Our day camps are filled with musical instruments, games, crafts, drama, performing, meeting new friends and much more! Professional instructors will guide children to reach their full potential in a comfortable and safe environment By the end of the week, campers will learn a show to perform that will either be done live or by video on the last day of camp.

First create a profile on our online portal, register on the online calendar, and then fill out the online registration form on our website.

FULL DAY CAMP

Drop-off: 8:45-9:00am

Pickup between: 3:00-3:15pm

You are welcome to drop your child off anytime between the times listed to create a staggered drop off and pickup.

 

HALF DAY CAMP (CHILDREN WITH EXCEPTIONALITIES CAMP ONLY)

Drop-off: 8:45-9:00am

Pickup between: 11:45-12:00pm

You are welcome to drop your child off anytime between the times listed to create a staggered drop off and pickup.

AGES 4+ 

Children will be split into an older and younger group. 

 

FULL DAY- $235.00+HST

HALF DAY- $185.00+HST (Children with exceptionalities camp week)

(Must be paid in full upon registration and is non-refundable)

 

Registration form and full camp fee must be submitted prior to the start date to hold your spot

 

What should campers bring: 
  • Lunch and snacks (peanut free) 

  • Refillable water bottle 

  • Sunscreen. Please apply sunscreen for our outdoor activities in the morning before camp (weather permitting)

  • Baseball or sun hat (mandatory for outside learning) 

  • Instrument (If they already have previous experience. We will provide all instruments needed) 

  • Extra clothes (if required) 

  • EpiPen (if required) 

  • Please label all your children’s items to help with organization

 

We kindly ask that you do not send your child with toys or activities from home unless it is their instrument they will be playing.

Camper expectations 

Katie’s Music Studio is committed to providing instruction services that are free from unlawful discrimination and harassment. All Teachers and students are entitled to a learning environment where they feel safe and are treated with respect. All Teachers and students have the right to be free from discrimination and harassment based upon characteristics including race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, record of offences, marital status, family status, disability etc. Katie’s Music Studio will make every reasonable, practicable effort to ensure that no worker or student is subjected to unlawful discrimination or harassment. If Katie’s Music Studio becomes aware of a potential incident, they will investigate the complaint or incident immediately. 

 

In certain circumstances, a camper may be removed from the camp environment without warning if his or her behaviour jeopardizes the safety of campers or staff. Katie’s Music Studio will not be held responsible for any costs associated with a camper’s dismissal and no refunds will be provided.

Katie’s Music Studio will not be responsible for any lost, broken, or stolen items.

 

Friday performance 

Throughout the week, campers will be working on a short performance to showcase what they have learned at camp all week! Note: they do not need to participate if they do not feel comfortable. 

 

The performance will either be in person (inside or outside) at our studio, or filmed and emailed to you. You will be notified before Friday if it will be in person, or through an emailed video, depending on the programming and weather that week. 

 

If the performance is in person at the studio, this will take place ON THE LAST DAY OF CAMP AT:

FULL DAY: 3:00pm

HALF DAY (CHILDREN WITH EXCEPTIONALITIES ONLY: 11:45am

What should campers expect to experience? 

 

Programming will be split into music and dramatic arts blocks during the day, with nutritional breaks and outdoor time (weather permitting). Here are some activities that may be included and will be adapted based on the children enrolled. Our goal is to create a safe space for children to reach their full potential! 

Music 

Campers will choose one instrument that they would like to learn/perform while at camp and will get music instruction by professional teachers. They will get to explore other instruments, as well as their main choice of instrument.

Creativity/improvisation

Music composing

Confidence building 

……and lots of fun! 

 

Instruments offered: piano, violin, ukulele, guitar, vocals, percussion instruments and more!

 

If your child already knows how to play an instrument, that is wonderful! We will build on their current skills.

Dramatic arts 

Dramatic arts exposes children to different activities that promote self confidence, teamwork, imagination, communication, trust, coordination, self presentation skills, and much more! Our students work with voice, movement and their imagination to explore the world of Drama. 

 

Ages 4-6

Puppet show, clowning, fairytale play, and more!

 

Ages 7-9

Scripted play, improvisation, clowning, and more!

 

Ages 10-13

Scripted play, radio play, marionettes, improvisation, miming, and more!

 

Exceptional Children

(Ages 4+)

This week is for children that do well in a setting with a smaller child to teacher ratio. This may include, but is not limited too, children with ADHD/ADD, autism, deaf/blind, down syndrome, anxiety etc.
